I've had this old VFD for... 10 years. I never connected it up till yesterday.
Switched on the power.. big bang, magic smoke, etc.
My immediate thought was that I'd wired the power to the motor contacts... nope. I definitely wired it the right way round.
It was quite a dramatic failure for something ostensibly connected up the right way.
I double checked... the power was definitely on the L contacts and the motor was on the T contacts.
Can I recap this drive or is it just shot?
