That's the point. In the past we had PGs, just for that reason, ugly, heavy and slow. No shiny PC with browsers, mail, entertainment and internet.

Keep the Step7-box just for programming and all is fine. Close projects and let MD5 seal it.

The "virus" was successful because of laziness. You maybe care about becoming infected by using stuff from usb-sticks but none of you thinking the same way by using the cable for the network.
Safety is a permanent process and it is hard work, anytime and anyplace.
