How to derive transfer function from the System output.

Iam working in Vi microsystems pvt ltd, a leading manufacturers of lab equipments. iam developing a process in which i would like to find the T.F

I am getting the output from a third order system. I know the output which is under damped system. I want to know how to derive transfer function of the process and its ultimate gain.

why dont you use mathworks tool by Matlab.com. you can download a copy from their site free of charge.

I have matlab6.0 version.But i couldn't derive T.F from the underdamped system output.I should derive by using simulink or m-file or how.can u please guide me.

Look at the system identification toolbox. It's designed for this purpose. The function arx is what you are looking for if I recall correctly.
