Can anyone tell me about the concept of reverse flow detection in ultrasonic airflowmeter?
In the setup i am using one ultrasonic transducer as trasnmitter and the opposite one as receiver, it detects the airflow in both the direction.
but in reverse airflow its giving me positive value,but from what i know it suppose to give negative value on reverse airflow direction.

 

On the clamp-ons that I've used, a positive reading is forward flow and a negative reading is reverse flow. The connection of the sensor cables to the correct terminals determined the polarity of flow value, meaning that reversing the cable connections reversed the flow polarity.

There's lots of clamp-on flow meters out there but it's unlikely that flow polarity indication is not standard on all of them.

Check how your sensor cables are connected to the electronics box.
