Verifying VFD Output

I recently had ABB's Freelance (micro DCS) deployed in a pilot plant. We also used ABB VFDs (e.g. ACS 310) to control centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, mixers, etc. on a modbus network.

Many problems have occurred during start-up (go figure). One example is that a centrifugal pump on a VFD would not start reliably, i.e. sluggish and would not turn over until 10's of Hz were supplied.

After several weeks we found out that two parameters (e.g. torque boost and the linear vs squared increase) were not set properly.

Also, along the way I noticed that custom face plates in Control Builder displayed the wrong frequency; well, I knew something was wrong because only 50 Hz was displayed running full out.

With all that said, I still don't trust the numbers I am seeing. I want to verify independently what the drive is putting out.

What is suggested? Multi-channel oscilloscope?

I am looking at a multi-channel scope from Fluke.
