I would like to seek your kind opinion and experience sharing in implementing Main Automation Contractor concept in your big project execution. How does is differs from your point of view and experience in comparison with normal EPCC way of project execution? What are the main risks that possible / or have been encountered?

Integration of MAC DCS with other type of vendors products shall not be an issue is it?

In general, EPC contractors hire their own major automation contractor. If owner would like to keep its MAC, there will be a higher price tag, but it will be well worth the maintenance support going forward. In general, the interface between owner MAC and EPC needs to be well defined, specially from the perspective of instrument types, cabling etc. Otherwise, it can be costly for the owner. EPC will try to save money in instruments and in installation, while charging arm and leg for changes.
