I got a partner for a power generation project, who need support on ABB AFS 665, Since the fiber optic led on the device not lightning or blinking at all.

It is for MV switchgear communication protocol to Power control module of LM 2500 express DCS..

Not sure what LED you meant, is it an SFP module on the switch? Did you check the diagnostics on the web interface of the switch?

Well our electrical partner told me that leds should be lightning...
I still did not try to connect maintenance laptop to the Device as it needs RJ11 Cable and an adaptor for the PC...

 

If the web interface was not disabled, you may access via that without a special cable. There's an application "AFSFinder" to discover AFS Switches on the network

Actually I know that there is AFS Finder but how to connect laptop to the Device..i mean which type of cable.. Communication ethernet cable RJ45 is OK?

 

Yes it's a normal Ethernet switch, but ports can be configured so can be it doesn't work on all ports or it's completely disabled even
