Generator Electromagnetic Field Leakage
Measuring the electromagnetic field around a generator

Dear All,

We have a Frame 9 gas turbine that is coupled with 6T240-370 GEC Alsthom generator. We want to use a telemetry system to measure some data at turbine and compressor. One of our challenges is electromagnetic noise of generator and effect of that on telemetry system. Does any body knows how we can measured electromagnetic field around the generator? As we know calculation of magnetic field effect is difficult. should this information be in the manufacturer data sheet?

Many Thanks

There are portable spectrum analyzers and various tests, etc.

But more beneficial to check your wiring and grounding. Proper shielding and grounding, is the only fix.
