I would like to know what is the difference between CDA and PCDI protocol and when should it be used in Experion system. Thank you in advance for inputs.

CDA stands for "Common Data Access", which is the Experion native (Honeywell proprietary) internal communication protocol. There is no access for user to this protocol.

PCDI (Peer Communication Data Interface) are data blocks in C300 and ACE-Nodes to communicate with external devices, for the protocol you choose see the HW Experion documentation. Many times it is use with the "ModBus-RTU"protocol, but you can select other protocols as well in the control builder.
