Hi,

Can anyone please advise on the weight of the generator rotor in a GE frame 6B type machine? also does anyone know about the requirement for a 'stub shaft' to bolt onto the rotor to allow high speed balancing, because there is only a bearing at the exciter end and the gearbox bearing gets left behind when the rotor is unbolted from the gearbox?

any advice would be much appreciate.
Thanks

Hi,

it's a GE Frame 6B design manufactured by European Gas Turbines in 1997. The generator nameplate states type T190-240 Wye 3 Phase, 53.412 MVA nominal power. It was built to generate at 13.8kV 60Hz but we changed the gearbox and excitation settings to operate at 11.5kV 50Hz.

Thanks,
David
